Official Chinese guidance lists 110 for police, 119 for fire and rescue, 120 for medical emergencies, and 12367 for immigration and entry-exit enquiries.

Lost passports and disrupted travel

Report a lost passport promptly to the local police and contact your embassy or consulate for replacement-document instructions. Transport and hotel bookings may also need document updates.

  • Keep encrypted copies of passport, visa and insurance
  • Save embassy, insurer and travel-advisor contacts
  • Separate cards and identity documents
  • Carry a medicine list using generic English names
